Many of you know how much I love working in Marylebone, particularly in beautiful Queen Anne Street. The extreme weather conditions we had at the end of July and beginning of August wreaked considerable damage to the adjoining building to my office when after a heavy storm, part of the balcony collapsed. Incredibly I understand nobody was seriously hurt but it shows what torrential rain and extreme heat can do to a building that is over 250 years old. Whilst it is great to see so many people returning to their offices this week, I have had no alternative other than to WFH as Westminster City Council has forbidden any occupier from working in our building. Some of these pictures are quite shocking as the Front of 58 is being completely dismantled, let’s hope with modern construction methods the street façade will be returned to its former glory.
